Role Description
The Fire Protection Engineer will play a key role in designing, reviewing, and optimizing fire protection and life safety systems for HVAC and ventilation projects, with a particular focus on car park ventilation, jet fans, and large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects.
Day-to-day responsibilities include performing fire risk assessments, developing fire protection and suppression system designs, coordinating with project and design teams, and ensuring compliance with local and international fire and safety codes.
The engineer will prepare technical documentation, review shop drawings, support installation and commissioning activities, and conduct system performance evaluations, including smoke control and emergency ventilation strategies.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Dubai, where the engineer will work partly on-site at project and office locations and partly from home, depending on project needs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Fire Protection Engineering and Safety Engineering, including system design and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Strong knowledge of Life Safety and Fire Safety principles, with experience applying them to commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience with Fire Suppression Systems, such as sprinklers, gaseous suppression, and integrated smoke control and ventilation solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with international and local fire codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code) and HVAC/ventilation best practices.
- Proficiency in relevant design and modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, CFD or smoke modeling software) is highly beneficial.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
