The Exhibition Production Unit Head is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of exhibition production within an organization.
This role oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of exhibitions, ensuring high-quality delivery, adherence to timelines, and alignment with organizational goals.
The Unit Head manages a team of production professionals, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, and ensures the effective allocation of resources to deliver outstanding exhibition experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop the exhibition production team, providing guidance, performance feedback, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Project Planning and Execution: Oversee the end-to-end production process for exhibitions, including budgeting, scheduling, logistics, technical requirements, and resource allocation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with curators, designers, marketing teams, vendors, and other key stakeholders to ensure exhibition objectives are met and the visitor experience is optimized.
- Quality Control: Ensure all exhibitions meet quality standards, safety regulations, and organizational expectations.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage production budgets, monitor expenses, and optimize resource use to achieve project goals within financial constraints.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Problem Solving: Address production challenges, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and implement effective solutions.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production status, project milestones, and post-exhibition evaluations for senior management.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Arts Administration, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in exhibition production, event management, or a similar field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of exhibition production processes, technical requirements, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with project management software and digital collaboration tools.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
