Maintenance and repair
- Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues with little or no supervision.
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspect tools, equipment, and machines; clean and lubricate equipment as needed.
- Identify equipment shutoff valves and building disconnects, transport tools and equipment, and maintain an inventory of parts and supplies.
- Diagnose and repair hotel equipment, pumps and motors, plumbing, electrical components, guest-room items, and internet devices.
- Perform work across air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building systems.
- Repair or replace copper and PVC piping, including soldering; use hand and power tools safely.
- Program televisions; prepare and paint surfaces; make minor wall and woodwork repairs; replace bulbs and air-conditioning filters.
- Use lockout/tagout and engineering software for preventive maintenance, energy management, and connected systems.
- Diagnose hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; conduct on-call readings and rounds; train or guide other engineers.
- Communicate shift handovers and follow safety, guest-service, and quality procedures; report hazards and incidents and store flammable materials safely.
Required qualifications
- At least two years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience.
- Experience in general maintenance, interior and exterior surface preparation, and painting.
- Valid driving license and universal CFC certification are required.
- Must meet applicable state and federal certification or licensing requirements.
Preferred education
- A high school diploma or GED, or a vocational or technical qualification, is preferred.
