Develop and provide corporate emergency management governance for mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience.
Support effective and timely responses to credible scenarios across onshore, offshore, port, marine, and diving operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain corporate requirements for emergency preparedness and response planning and capabilities.
- Ensure oil spill response arrangements align with national legislation, relevant conventions, and standards.
- Monitor implementation of emergency preparedness and response standards.
- Provide subject matter expertise to crisis management and business continuity planning for risk mitigation and response.
- Review department and directorate emergency response plans for compliance and credible-scenario coverage.
- Assess emergency preparedness, response capabilities, and public and community preparedness periodically.
- Establish performance criteria, monitoring, and reporting for the emergency response management system.
- Develop standardized tiered training for response teams and govern implementation, evaluation, and improvement.
- Develop recovery strategies and collaborate with business continuity teams to restore normal operations.
Required experience and skills
- 15 years’ experience in emergency management, fire safety, or occupational health and safety in the oil and gas, chemical, or petrochemical industry.
- A minimum of 10 years in a similar position is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of emergency preparedness and response; some knowledge of crisis management and business continuity requirements in the relevant industries.
- Excellent presentation and report writing skills in English.
- Proficiency in a variety of Microsoft Office applications.
Educational qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Emergency Management.
