Electrical Project Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the electrical technical team, allocate work, guide detailed engineering, and support team performance.
• Review engineering deliverables for quality, approval, specifications, codes, standards, and applicable authority requirements.
• Conduct technical reviews and audits, resolve technical issues, and monitor and review BIM models.
• Review tender and IFC drawings and specifications, raising RFIs when needed.
• Manage electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning; perform electrical calculations.
• Review method statements and material submittals and provide technical support to site, procurement, commercial, and other departments.
• Prepare and review compliant technical solutions within agreed time, cost, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with authorities, other disciplines, contractors, suppliers, clients, and consultants; supervise and evaluate engineers.
• Inspect and audit site installation work when required and support improvements to team quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10 years of relevant work experience managing projects, particularly in hotels and resorts or high-rise developments.
• Expertise in electrical calculations, including load, breaker sizing, cable sizing, voltage drop, busbar, capacitor bank, and lighting level calculations.
• Knowledge of DM Green Building requirements.
• Strong technical management, project management, communication, and coordination skills.

Technical scope

• Electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical services.
• Review of BIM models, tender and IFC drawings, specifications, method statements, and material submittals.
• Compliance with applicable codes, standards, client and consultant requirements, and authorities such as ADDC, DEWA, DCD, ADCD, FEWA, and SEWA.
