The Infrastructure Draftsman prepares, modifies, and maintains detailed engineering drawings for infrastructure projects.
The work requires compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and approved designs.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and revise infrastructure drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
- Develop drawings for roads, utilities, drainage, sewerage, stormwater networks, water supply, and related works.
- Prepare layouts, sections, profiles, cross-sections, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate with engineering, site, survey, consultant, and project teams; review IFC, shop, and approved design drawings.
- Incorporate comments and revisions, and ensure drawings meet specifications, standards, and authority requirements.
- Provide updated drawings to site teams, resolve drawing queries, maintain document records, and update as-builts from red-line markups.
- Support quantity take-offs and technical documentation; submit drawings according to project schedules.
Qualifications and experience
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years as an Infrastructure Draftsman in the UAE or GCC.
- Construction or contracting company experience, particularly on infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in roads, wet and dry utilities, drainage, sewerage, and stormwater infrastructure drawings.
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency; Civil 3D experience is an advantage.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, construction details, levels, coordinates, and site requirements.
- Experience preparing shop, as-built, and construction drawings.
- Familiarity with UAE infrastructure standards and authority requirements is preferred.
- Strong drafting and drawing interpretation, attention to detail, accuracy, and coordination skills.
