Design management responsibilities
- Coordinate design scope, responsibilities, deliverables, approvals, maturity, constructability, change, and technical interfaces.
- Develop design strategies, governance frameworks, and delivery controls aligned with client requirements and project objectives.
- Coordinate design across the project lifecycle and integrate input from clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Integrate design management with programme, commercial, procurement, risk, change, and assurance processes.
- Monitor design performance, maturity, and compliance; identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
- Provide reporting and decision support; maintain statutory, contractual, quality, and business compliance records and audit trails.
- Promote innovation, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and service excellence.
- Help identify and manage carbon emissions and reductions in support of the net-zero transition.
Requirements
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in the applicable discipline.
- Demonstrated experience on rail, metro, high-speed rail, or comparable major infrastructure programmes.
- Strong client-facing, analytical, written communication, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
- Knowledge of relevant delivery processes, standards, systems, and governance for the role.
Preferred experience and credentials
- Professional membership, chartership, or specialist certification is preferred where applicable.
- UAE or wider GCC experience is advantageous and does not replace demonstrable technical and delivery competence.
