Operations and incident management
- Triage alerts, user queries, and basic incidents; execute runbooks and escalate according to SLA.
- Analyze, tune, create rules, and remediate incidents across DLP, classification, and IRM platforms.
- Lead advanced investigations, root-cause analysis, containment, custom rules/scripts, SIEM/SOAR integrations, and vendor engagement.
- Own data security incident response through detection, investigation, containment, remediation, recovery, and post-incident review.
- Track issues and deviations, prioritize and assign ownership, and monitor SLA-driven resolution.
- Prepare incident reports, root-cause analyses, and recommendations; implement corrective and preventive actions.
Service improvement and policy enforcement
- Improve detection fidelity, reduce false positives, and enhance user experience through tuning, content updates, and automation.
- Develop and maintain playbooks and runbooks for repeatable operational tasks.
- Collaborate with governance and legal teams to review and update data security policies and acceptable use frameworks.
- Enforce policies through DLP and classification controls, IRM, encryption, and endpoint integrations.
- Ensure auditability and collect evidence for compliance and regulatory requirements.
Platforms and architecture
- Oversee deployment, configuration, hardening, patching, backup, and monitoring of on-premises and cloud DLP, classification, and IRM platforms.
- Manage availability, capacity, performance optimization, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Integrate identity, endpoint, email, storage, and cloud services, including Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Box, and OneDrive.
- Architect and validate solution designs, secure configurations, and network integrations; produce design documents, architecture diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Conduct threat modeling and security reviews for changes affecting data flows.
Transition and stakeholder engagement
- Lead onboarding, migrations, and vendor replacement transitions, including discovery, cutover, and rollback planning.
- Drive cloud enablement, SaaS adoption, automation, and CI/CD for policies.
- Provide knowledge transfer and prepare HLD/LLD documents, runbooks, training materials, and operational handover.
- Coordinate with SOC, IT operations, endpoint, identity, legal/compliance, data owners, and business units.
- Provide operational and executive KPI reporting and support audits, compliance assessments, and third-party reviews.
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 8+ years of data security experience with hands-on DLP, Data Classification, and IRM solutions.
- L1–L3 operational experience covering triage, remediation, advanced tuning, and integrations.
- Experience with DLP products, classification tools, IRM platforms, and related ecosystem integrations.
- Strong Windows/Linux platform administration, virtualization, and Azure/AWS cloud exposure.
- Knowledge of encryption, PKI, HSMs, and secure key management.
- Familiarity with SIEM/Sentinel, EDR, email gateways, and MDM integrations.
- Understanding of CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, and data privacy regulations.
- Strong troubleshooting, PowerShell/Python scripting, automation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Desirable qualifications
- A master’s degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
- Good-to-have certifications include CISSP, CISM, CCSP, vendor DLP/IRM certifications, Azure/AWS, Microsoft 365 security, and ITIL Foundation.
