Team and role

The DataCenter Service / Datacenter Cloud System team builds and operates hyperscale data centers, manages server fleet lifecycles, and provides cloud and infrastructure services.

The role manages colocation facility project delivery and ongoing operations, with responsibility for infrastructure reliability and facility improvement.

Project delivery and operations

  • Participate in colocation data center infrastructure planning and construction, track progress, coordinate communication, and anticipate operational risks.
  • Test, accept, and take over facility infrastructure to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Operate colocation facilities, maintain stability, identify optimizations, and improve data center management.
  • Own change management for high-risk maintenance to ensure uninterrupted facility operations; manage operational events, reporting, and fault tracking and handling.

Partners, fit-outs, and incidents

  • Coordinate with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders; audit colocation providers' maintenance programs and work with them to improve facility upkeep.
  • Support DC Operations as a subject matter expert on design limitations and risks.
  • Supervise data hall fit-outs, coordinating IT services, power system deployment, and cooling infrastructure implementation.
  • Be available outside normal business hours to coordinate critical, high-priority facility incidents that may affect business operations.

Minimum qualifications

  • Diploma or professional certification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related facility engineering discipline, and 5+ years of data center facility operations experience.
  • Production experience implementing power redundancy designs such as 2N and N+1 distributed architectures.
  • Deep understanding of cooling redundancy and concurrent maintainability, including N+1 and N+2 designs.
  • Hands-on maintenance experience with generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, and electrical sub-distribution infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to facility documentation and stakeholder coordination.

Preferred qualifications

  • Ability to prioritize complex facility workstreams in fast-paced, ambiguous data center environments.
  • Working knowledge of TIA-942 and ASHRAE standards for power and cooling capacity calculations.
  • Experience managing vendor contracts, facility capital projects, or operational uptime programs.
  • Risk assessment and decision-making skills to resolve critical facility uncertainties while maintaining business continuity.
