Role overview

Independently review lifecycle-cost models, facilities-management cost reports, and related financial analysis.

Verify that the Lifecycle Cost KRI and annual cost-reduction target of at least 2% rely on sound data and realistic assumptions.

Key responsibilities and authority

  • Review lifecycle-cost models and replacement strategies for critical asset groups, testing service life, replacement timing, and residual value.
  • Validate maintenance, repair, energy, and replacement costs against contracts, invoices, work orders, budgets, and asset registers.
  • Check CapEx and OpEx classification against QFZ policies; track year-on-year trends against the 2% reduction target and flag risks to reliability or compliance.
  • Prepare normalized datasets by gross floor area and asset type for biennial benchmarking with the Hard Service Manager.
  • Connect cost data with condition, reliability, and risk information with the Data Analyst; contribute to assurance reports, committee packs, and contract discussions.
  • May challenge figures and assumptions, request evidence, and recommend supported adjustments; may not approve budgets, award contracts, or commit QFZA to financial obligations.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or a related subject.
  • Experience in lifecycle costing, FM finance, or asset management.
  • MRICS or an equivalent professional qualification is desirable.

Knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of lifecycle costing for buildings and infrastructure, financial reports, cost breakdowns, and contracts.
  • Knowledge of FM cost drivers including labour, materials, energy, and capital replacement.
  • Advanced Excel for cost analysis and scenario testing; familiarity with CAFM financial modules.
  • Understanding of how asset condition and reliability affect lifecycle cost and risk.

Personal attributes and success measures

Analytical and numerate, attentive to detail, able to explain financial concepts simply, collaborative when challenging unsupported assumptions, and resistant to misleading presentation of figures.

Success is measured by validated model accuracy and completeness, clear tracking of cost trends and the 2% target, timely reporting inputs, and use of analysis in asset-strategy and contract-change decisions.

Employment and pay

  • Job type: full-time.
  • Pay: QAR 7,000–8,000 per month.

Work location

  • Work location is in person.
