Kitchen duties
- Prepare special meals and substitutes, and cook according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
- Regulate cooking equipment temperatures, thaw frozen food in the refrigerator, and prepare cold foods.
- Ensure portions, arrangement, and garnish; keep food logs and monitor food quality and quantity.
- Communicate assistance needs, inform the chef of surplus food for daily specials, and update service staff on specials and unavailable menu items.
Team, safety, and physical duties
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, motivation, and coaching of employees.
- Follow safety and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training.
- Maintain a clean professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, anticipate guest needs, and communicate courteously.
- Support colleagues and shared goals, maintain quality standards, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
- Role involves extended standing, sitting, or movement; reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, and moving objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Recommended qualifications
- At least 3 years of related work experience.
- A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is recommended.
- No supervisory experience or license/certification is listed.
