Food preparation and cooking
- Portion, cut, wash, peel, measure, and mix ingredients for cooking.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and preparation checklists.
- Prepare cold foods and serve food in appropriate containers and portions.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Test food for doneness and monitor food quality during preparation.
Kitchen operations
- Set up and organize food work areas.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment.
- Check that appliances and food are at the correct temperatures.
Policies and teamwork
- Follow company and safety and security policies and complete safety training and certifications.
- Report maintenance and repair needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to a manager.
- Maintain a neat, professional uniform and appearance, protect company property, and keep proprietary information confidential.
- Communicate professionally, maintain positive working relationships, and support team goals.
- Perform other reasonable tasks requested by a supervisor.
Preferred qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
- No supervisory experience is required; no license or certification is listed.
Physical requirements
- Able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods and bend, twist, pull, stoop, and reach above or below the knees.
- Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
