Food preparation and cooking
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, and storing them; wash and peel produce and weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
- Follow recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food-preparation checklists to prepare and cook food, including cold foods.
- Portion and plate food in appropriate containers; operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Test food for doneness, monitor food quality during preparation, and check appropriate food and equipment temperatures.
Kitchen operations and teamwork
- Set up and clean work areas; clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment.
- Follow company, safety, and security procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to a manager.
- Protect confidential information and company assets; maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance.
- Build positive working relationships, support team goals, respond appropriately to coworkers' concerns, and communicate clearly and professionally.
- Meet quality expectations and standards and perform other reasonable duties as directed by a supervisor.
Qualifications and physical requirements
- Recommended: high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and at least one year of related work experience; no supervisory experience or license is listed.
- Complete safety training and certification.
- Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach, bend, twist, kneel, push, pull, and move, lift, carry, or position items weighing up to 25 lb without assistance.
