Overview
Skilled Careers is seeking an experienced Contracts & Commercial Manager to join a leading construction firm delivering a major EPC oil & gas project in the UAE.
This is a key leadership role responsible for managing all contractual and commercial aspects of a large-scale project, ensuring financial performance, risk mitigation, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all contract administration and compliance activities in accordance with project requirements and applicable contract conditions (FIDIC-based).
- Manage and oversee claims, variations, and Extension of Time (EOT) processes, including preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution.
- Provide strategic oversight of subcontracting and procurement, including contract formation, administration, and performance management.
- Drive cost control and commercial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and value optimization.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks, ensuring proactive risk management across all project phases.
- Lead dispute resolution processes, including negotiations, mediation, and coordination with legal teams where required.
- Support senior project leadership with commercial advice, reporting, and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and regional regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Contracts/Commercial Manager role on major EPC oil & gas projects.
- Strong working knowledge of FIDIC contracts and international contracting practices.
- Demonstrated experience in the Middle East (UAE/GCC preferred).
- Expertise in claims management, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage complex project finances.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
