Power and Water Generation Contract Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage development and implementation of effective contract management principles and processes across the Project, starting during the Development phase with critical review of key agreements until the Project Company is mobilized.
• To review and oversee effective development and implementation of contract management principles by the Project Company to reduce exposure to any potential and unidentified risks, while providing specific contract management expertise.
• Closely work with the Management, Projects Controls, and other Project Delivery functions to assess specific projects’ risks, suggest action plans and take a key role in conducting risk assessments, developing risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and evaluate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing corrective actions and enhancements.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Engineering with previous contract management experience, Law with Construction experience or certificate diploma or equivalent
• Member, or past member of a recognized professional body ; MRICS, MCIOB, IMEch, MICE, IStruchE
• 10+ years of experience in contract management within the utilities sector
• **HQ Oversight:**
• ability to oversee project company contract management framework and performance; strong understanding of sponsor/shareholder protections; ability to review and challenge EPC claims and dispute strategy.
• **Fronting Role:**
• capable of acting as interim Project Company Contract Manager on Owner side with autonomy and seniority until Contract Manager is mobilized (0-9 months after LNTP/NTP).
• Ability to process the full lifecycle of contractual letters and claims.
• **Business Development:**
• ability to review key documents such as EPC term sheets and assess risk allocation across EPC–PPA/WPA (LDs, FM/EGAI, interfaces) with the ability to lead the BD process from Project Delivery perspective.
• **Profile Requirement:**
• Preferred experience on Sponsor/Developer side, rather than solely as EPC contractor; must demonstrate strategic, governance-level, shareholder mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Proven Engineering/Contract experience is preferred as well as LLBs degrees profiles with practical construction projects experience or similar (FIDIC, Claims..)
• Duration of the contract: 12 months
