Food preparation and cooking
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, mixing, and storing food.
- Prepare and cook food; prepare cold foods; operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Test whether food is sufficiently cooked and monitor food quality.
- Set up and break down the workstation and serve proper portions in appropriate receptacles.
Kitchen cleanliness and safety
- Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment; check appliance and food temperatures.
- Follow safety and security policies, complete safety training, and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
Team and workplace standards
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect company assets, and keep proprietary information confidential.
- Communicate professionally, maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and meet quality expectations.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop; move objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications
- At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- No supervisory experience or license or certification is specified.
