A skilled, motivated, and detail-oriented Commis I is sought to support daily kitchen operations at the Heartists Cafeteria.
The role involves preparing international cuisines and breakfast selections while maintaining food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Asian dishes, including Filipino, Myanmar, Indonesian, and other regional cuisines.
- Prepare African, Arabic, Indian, and Continental dishes to established recipes and quality standards.
- Support breakfast preparation and service across the listed international cuisines.
- Maintain food taste, quality, portion control, and presentation; prepare and replenish food on time.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and food-storage standards.
- Monitor stock rotation, reduce food waste, and keep the kitchen clean and organized.
- Work with the kitchen team to support efficient operations and a high-quality dining experience.
Qualifications
- Proven Commis I or similar experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel, resort, or large-scale catering operation.
- Good knowledge of Asian cuisines, including Filipino, Myanmar, and Indonesian, and of African, Arabic, Indian, and Continental cuisines.
- Experience preparing and supporting breakfast service across international cuisines.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and proper food handling.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes, maintain food quality, and work efficiently in a multicultural kitchen team.
- A culinary degree or professional culinary certification is preferred.
Additional qualification
- An additional language is an added advantage.
