Position objective
Responsible for basic preparation in an assigned kitchen section.
Kitchen duties
- Work with senior cooks to produce food in the assigned section and assist them in performing duties efficiently.
- Collect required food items from stores and the butchery.
- Prepare mise en place according to the section head's direction.
- Follow kitchen hygiene and sanitation rules and maintain operational hygiene according to cleaning rotas.
- Attend training classes and keep records of new recipes and cooking procedures.
- Maintain equipment in good, clean condition and ensure repairs and maintenance are regularly carried out.
- Control food waste to maintain food costs within budget without compromising standards.
- Perform other duties assigned from time to time.
Health, safety and conduct
- Follow restaurant policies and procedures relating to health, hygiene, and fire-life safety.
- Familiarize yourself with emergency exits and evacuation procedures.
- Comply with the corporate code of conduct, model company values, and carry out tasks assigned by management in pursuit of business goals.
Requirements
