Baba Roma is hiring a Commis 1 to support the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen team in preparing quality food and maintaining kitchen standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and portion controls.
- Assist with daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Prepare, store, label, and rotate ingredients properly.
- Maintain clean, hygienic workstations and kitchen areas and follow food-safety, HACCP, and company standards.
- Receive, store, and check food supplies; minimize waste and use ingredients efficiently.
- Support other kitchen sections as needed and maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portions.
Candidate requirements
- Previous experience as a Commis 1 or in a similar kitchen role.
- Experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, or central kitchen is preferred.
- Good knowledge of basic food preparation and cooking techniques and understanding of food safety and hygiene.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Pay
- Pay is AED 2,800–3,000 per month.
