Commis 3 is an entry-level kitchen position supporting food preparation, cleanliness, and day-to-day commercial-kitchen operations.
The position is in the Kitchen department and reports to the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Head Chef.
Key responsibilities
- Wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients; prepare them according to recipes and senior-chef instructions.
- Support kitchen staff in daily operations and maintain clean, organized workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow food handling, hygiene, sanitation, safety, storage, and labeling procedures.
- Help receive, check, and store supplies; maintain stock levels and report shortages or damaged items.
- Follow portion control, minimize food waste, and clean equipment and utensils after use.
- Follow company and kitchen procedures and undertake other assigned kitchen-related duties.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic food preparation and kitchen-operations knowledge; willingness to learn culinary skills.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and stand for extended periods.
- Teamwork, communication, ability to follow instructions, and discipline.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- UAE experience is an advantage.
Working conditions
- Work is primarily in a professional commercial kitchen, in person.
- May involve long hours, extended standing, and handling kitchen equipment and ingredients.
- Must comply with health, safety, and food-hygiene requirements.
