Commis 3 is a non-management food-and-beverage culinary role at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.
Food preparation and service
- Prepare, portion, chop, and store ingredients; wash and peel produce; weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
- Cook according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and preparation checklists; prepare cold foods.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers; test food for doneness and monitor food quality and temperatures.
- Set up and break down workstations and serve correct portions in appropriate receptacles.
Kitchen care and workplace conduct
- Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Follow company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and uphold quality standards.
- Communicate professionally, support team goals, and maintain positive working relationships.
- The role involves extended standing, sitting, or walking, reaching and bending, and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Preferred qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
- At least one year of related work experience is preferred.
- No supervisory experience or license/certification is specified.
