The Commis 3 prepares and cooks food and supports kitchen operations at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.
The position is full time, non-management, and not remote.
Food preparation and cooking
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, and mixing food.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
- Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Test food for doneness and monitor its quality during preparation.
- Set up and break down workstations and serve food in appropriate portions and receptacles.
Kitchen safety and teamwork
- Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment; check appliance and food temperatures.
- Follow safety and security policies, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions, and complete safety training.
- Maintain professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, communicate professionally, and support team goals.
- The role requires extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Preferred qualifications
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
- At least one year of related work experience is preferred.
- No supervisory experience or license or certification is specified.
