Role overview

Kitchen responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitutions, and cold foods; cook according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and preparation checklists.
• Regulate cooking equipment temperatures and thaw frozen food in refrigeration.
• Ensure proper portions, arrangement, and garnish; monitor food quality and quantity and maintain food logs.
• Tell the Chef about excess food for daily specials and inform service staff about specials and unavailable menu items.
• Communicate when assistance is needed during busy periods.

Team and safety responsibilities

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
• Follow company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and uphold quality standards.
• Address guest service needs and maintain positive working relationships through clear, professional communication.
• The role involves extended standing, sitting, or walking, reaching and bending, and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Preferred qualifications

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• At least three years of related work experience is preferred.
• No supervisory experience or license/certification is specified.
