Role overview

Client and contract management

• Act as principal commercial and contractual interface with the client and maintain a constructive professional relationship.
• Monitor contract performance, commercial risks, obligations, and deadlines; escalate material matters to the Managing Director and relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate contractual correspondence, notices, submissions, change requests, claims, and responses; ensure positions are timely and documented.
• Advise operational and corporate teams on contractual obligations, commercial implications, and day-to-day contract issues.

Commercial, compliance, and leadership

• Support client and supplier negotiations on amendments, variations, settlements, and commercial agreements.
• Guide procurement, subcontracts, confidentiality arrangements, and business agreements in coordination with Finance and operational teams.
• Oversee compliance policies, registers, reviews, and awareness activities.
• Lead and coordinate a three-person legal, commercial, and compliance team; set priorities and support the wider business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commercial Management, Law, Business, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
• Relevant commercial, contractual, or legal experience: approximately 15 years for Metro and 7–10 years for Tram.
• Practical knowledge of contract administration, change control, claims, commercial negotiations, and risk management.
• Able to interpret contracts and provide practical advice; experienced in client relationships and sensitive commercial discussions.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organization, stakeholder management, integrity, judgment, and attention to detail.
• Team supervision or coordination experience is desirable; GCC experience is highly preferred.

Preferred industry experience

• Metro, Tram, and Light Rail Operations; Rail and Public Transport; Transport Infrastructure; Operations and Maintenance contracts; or contract-based service environments.
