Role overview

Drawing production

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings from approved designs, specifications, site requirements, and engineers’ instructions.
• Develop plans, elevations, sections, details, layouts, and construction drawings for civil works.
• Prepare drawings for roads, drainage, stormwater and utility networks, concrete works, structures, paving, kerbs, foundations, and related work.
• Prepare and revise shop drawings, IFC drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings.
• Review architectural, structural, MEP, landscape, and other drawings for clashes and coordination needs.
• Incorporate comments and revisions; update drawings for approved variations, site changes, and technical instructions.

Coordination and records

• Ensure drawings comply with approved specifications, project standards, applicable codes, and authority requirements.
• Use site measurements, survey information, red-line markups, and engineers’ instructions; verify dimensions, levels, coordinates, and details before issuing drawings.
• Coordinate with civil engineers, project managers, surveyors, site supervisors, and technical staff.
• Maintain revision control, drawing registers, and organized electronic and hard-copy records; format and submit drawings for approval.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and measurements, and provide construction information to site teams.
• Prepare final as-built drawings based on actual site conditions and approved changes, coordinating with site teams for accurate information.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting, or a related field.
• Experience requirement is inconsistent: the opening says minimum five years; the qualifications section says three to five years of relevant civil construction and contracting experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction drawings and drafting standards; experience with shop, coordination, and as-built drawings.
• Ability to interpret civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and infrastructure drawings; understand levels, dimensions, coordinates, sections, details, and construction terminology.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; familiarity with Civil 3D or other relevant drafting software is preferred.
• UAE construction industry experience is preferred; knowledge of UAE practices, standards, and authority requirements is advantageous.
• Good communication, coordination, independent working, deadline management, attention to detail, and accuracy.
