Civil Draftsman - Steel Structure

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil, structural, and steel structure drawings for construction and engineering projects.
• Develop drawings for structural framing, platforms, walkways, stairs, ladders, supports, and related components.
• Produce GA, fabrication, shop, layout, section, elevation, and detail drawings.
• Review design documents; coordinate drawings across engineering disciplines and incorporate revisions.
• Prepare drawings from site measurements, sketches, and design requirements; assist with as-built drawings and records.
• Check drawings for clashes, discrepancies, and dimensional errors; maintain revision control.
• Coordinate with fabrication and site teams and ensure drawings follow project specifications, codes, and company standards.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in industrial, oil and gas, EPC, or construction projects.
• Strong steel structure drafting and detailing experience; the posting specifies 6 years of steel structure drafting experience.
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and relevant drafting/design software; experience preparing structural steel, fabrication/shop, and construction drawings.
• Understanding of civil and structural construction practices and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with multidisciplinary engineering teams; attention to detail, accuracy, independent work, and deadline management.
• UAE project experience, especially Ruwais or Abu Dhabi industrial projects, is an advantage.
• Tekla Structures, Revit, or other structural detailing software; international standards knowledge; and communication/coordination skills are preferred.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 10,000–12,000 per month.
