Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Construction & Contracting

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Develop financial strategies aligned with business objectives and long-term growth.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance analysis.
• Oversee project costing, contract profitability, WIP reporting, and project budget monitoring.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, treasury operations, and banking relationships.
• Monitor project cash flows, payment certificates, receivables, payables, retention, and contractual commitments.
• Oversee reporting, accounting operations, statutory audits, and internal financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, UAE VAT, corporate tax, and statutory regulations.
• Manage LCs, BGs, and working capital facilities.
• Identify risks and cost-control opportunities and improve project margins and profitability.
• Advise senior management, collaborate with project and business teams, and lead the finance and accounts team.

Qualifications and experience

• CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or an MBA in Finance from a recognized institution.
• 12–18 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in senior financial leadership.
• Construction or contracting company experience is mandatory; proven CFO or senior finance leadership in the sector is required.
• Expertise in project accounting, contract costing, WIP reporting, project cash flow, and profitability analysis.
• Experience with banking facilities, LCs, BGs, audits, and working capital.
• Knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, corporate tax, and statutory compliance.
• ERP and accounting systems experience, advanced Excel skills, and ability to advise senior management.
