Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the daily operation of an assigned kitchen section.
  • Organize and supervise food preparation activities within the section.
  • Prepare ingredients, sauces, garnishes, and dishes according to approved recipes.
  • Ensure food quality, taste, portion sizes, and presentation meet company standards.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely service.
  • Monitor section readiness before service begins.
  • Maintain sufficient mise en place throughout the shift.
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to menu specifications and established standards.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
  • Ensure ingredients are fresh and suitable for use.
  • Check food quality, taste, temperature, and consistency before service.
  • Accommodate approved dietary requirements and special requests.
  • Maintain consistency in food preparation during busy service periods.
  • Assist with menu trials and new dish preparation when required.

Educational Qualifications

  • Culinary arts qualification, professional cookery certificate, or relevant hospitality training is preferred.
  • Practical kitchen experience may be considered alongside formal qualifications.
  • Food safety and hygiene training is an advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Demi Chef de Partie, or experienced Commis Chef is preferred.
  • Experience managing a specific kitchen section in a restaurant, hotel, resort, or catering operation is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu standards is required.
  • UAE hospitality experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in a relevant cuisine or section, such as hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, grill, or sauce, is an advantage.
