Role summary
Processes customer payments and assists with inquiries about payment, account balance, and purchased items.
Cashiering and customer support
- Accepts cash, checks, wire transfers, and credit cards and completes transactions according to established procedures.
- Scans items, collects and verifies payments, and performs cashiering duties during peak periods or as needed.
- Responds to complex customer inquiries and escalated payment or account issues.
- Retrieves amounts due and account history and creates customer accounts when needed.
Records and cash controls
- Balances cash at the end of each shift and aims for nil variance.
- Prepares payment vouchers, receipts, deposit slips, and related transaction documents.
- Works toward nil phone-card shrinkage variance and invoice targets.
Counter upkeep
- Keeps register and counter areas neat and stocked with necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- At least two years of experience; graduate-level educational qualification.
- Skills and knowledge include MS Excel, follow-up, coordination, POS systems, and invoicing.
