The role involves hands-on carpentry and repair work in a hotel environment.
Qualifications and capabilities
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of general repair tools; ability to read shop drawings and specifications and estimate materials accurately.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and extended standing and walking.
- Ability to work independently, resolve issues, and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Expertise in furniture making, installation, and repair, and proficiency in measuring, cutting, and joining materials.
- Ability to follow safe work practices.
Responsibilities
- Make, install, and repair furniture and other carpentry work; measure, cut, and join materials precisely.
- Complete work orders and assignments from the Duty Engineer within designated timelines.
- Use equipment effectively and contribute to maintaining its performance.
- Handle finishing chemicals and products using environmentally friendly practices and safe procedures.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests.
- Attend monthly departmental meetings and provide feedback and improvement suggestions.
Compensation
- Fixed monthly salary of AED 1,600.
Work arrangement
- The role is based in Dubai and includes hands-on physical carpentry and repair duties.
