The Cafe Supervisor oversees daily cafe operations, provides customer service leadership, and guides the team in delivering an exceptional experience.
Job responsibilities
- Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supervise, train, and motivate staff to maintain high service standards.
- Monitor food quality, service, and customer satisfaction.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally.
- Assist with staff scheduling to ensure coverage during peak hours.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment.
- Work with management to develop and implement sales strategies.
- Assist with financial controls, including cash handling and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, cafe management, or a related field.
- At least two years' experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Passion for coffee and willingness to learn.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations, resolve conflicts, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food-handling regulations.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic financial reporting.
- Flexibility to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Working conditions
- The role may involve evening, weekend, and holiday work depending on operating hours.
- The role may require extended periods of standing and occasional heavy lifting.
