Business Development Manager

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across target engineering and design sectors.
• Develop and execute the business development strategy in line with company growth objectives.
• Build relationships with developers, government entities, PMO and PMC firms, contractors, and strategic partners.
• Monitor market trends, tenders, major project pipelines, and competitor activity.
• Lead client engagement from initial approach through proposals, negotiations, and contract discussions.
• Coordinate with technical, design, engineering, bid, tendering, and marketing teams on client-facing materials.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
• Track pipeline, win rates, and revenue targets and report results to senior management.
• Provide market intelligence and client feedback to support strategic decisions and service development.

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline.
• At least 12 years of relevant professional experience, including business development, client relationship management, or strategic growth.
• Experience in engineering, design, architecture, PMC, or multidisciplinary consulting firms.
• Familiarity with building and infrastructure design stages from planning through construction supervision.
• A successful record of securing new AEC business and developing long-term client relationships.
• Prior Saudi Arabia experience and a professional network across developers, government entities, and consultancies are highly preferred.
• Experience with mega-project or giga-project stakeholders is advantageous.

Languages and competencies

• English fluency is required.
• Arabic proficiency is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of engineering design stages and the AEC project lifecycle is required.
• Business development, negotiation, relationship management, commercial, communication, and presentation skills are required.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business development reporting tools is required.
