Role Overview
Business Development Engineer focused on growing DAR Engineering’s power and energy consulting business in Saudi Arabia.
The role combines electrical engineering expertise, commercial acumen, and client development across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure opportunities in power generation, transmission and distribution, and substation projects.
- Develop a market strategy targeting developers and contractors in Saudi Arabia.
- Build relationships with developers, EPC contractors, utilities, and strategic stakeholders.
- Monitor tenders, market trends, project pipelines, and competitor activity.
- Lead client engagement from initial contact through proposals and contract negotiation.
- Coordinate with technical, design, bid, tendering, and marketing teams on proposals.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Track pipeline, win rates, and revenue targets and provide market intelligence to management.
Experience and Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in engineering, design, and consulting firms.
- At least 3–4 years in sales, business development, or marketing within power and energy.
- Strong familiarity with generation, transmission and distribution, and substation projects.
- Demonstrated success securing business with developers and contractors.
- English fluency is required.
- Saudi experience and a relevant professional network are highly preferred.
- Giga- or mega-project stakeholder experience is advantageous.
- Arabic proficiency is highly preferred.
Competencies
- Strong technical understanding of the power and energy industry.
- Strong business development, negotiation, relationship management, and commercial skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior client engagement.
- Strategic, hands-on, and results-driven approach to pipeline development and deal closure.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and business development reporting tools.
