Associate Director- VAT

About This Role

One of the leading prestigious tax consulting operation is seeking an experienced senior professional as a VAT Specialist at Associate Director level to lead compliance, advisory, and strategic tax initiatives across diverse client portfolios in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• VAT Compliance & Reporting: Oversee accurate and timely preparation, review, and filing of VAT returns
• Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT regulations and reporting standards
• Tax Strategy & Advisory- Develop and implement VAT-efficient strategies
• Advise on VAT implications of complex transactions
• Audit & Authority Liaison- Manage VAT audits, inquiries, and assessments
• Represent clients in discussions with UAE tax authorities
• Monitor changes in VAT laws and regulations
• Provide technical guidance on complex VAT matters
• Identify VAT risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Conduct compliance reviews and risk assessments
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of VAT professionals
• Drive performance and ensure high-quality deliverables

Skills

• SHOULD BE A CA/ACCA/CPA/ /CFA
• 5–7 years of UAE VAT experience (post-qualification) within a consulting firm
• Additional 2+ years of indirect tax experience internationally
• Strong expertise in UAE VAT laws and regulatory framework
• Proven leadership or managerial experience
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
