Assistant Night Manager role at a hotel, covering guest check-in, front-desk transactions, guest requests, reporting, and staff support.
Guest and financial operations
- Verify guest identity and payment, assign rooms, issue keys, create accounts, and enter rewards information.
- Check rates and market codes, record exceptions, adjust billing, and respond to guest requests and information needs.
- Process all payment types, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges; balance receipts, secure the bank, and follow accounting procedures.
- Prepare daily reports, logs, contingency lists, cashier records, and closing reports; notify Security of theft reports.
Team and workplace responsibilities
- Assist management with employee training, evaluation, counselling, motivation, and coaching; support team goals and respond to employee concerns.
- Follow company policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets.
- Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, communicate professionally, maintain quality standards, and use computers and POS systems.
- The role may involve extended standing, sitting, or walking and moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds; other reasonable duties may be assigned.
Preferred qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
- No license or certification is specified.
