The Assistant Manager serves customers on the shop floor and supports shop or department managers in efficient operations and high customer-service standards.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers, give expert advice, and support purchase decisions in line with quality and customer-service standards.
- Maintain inventories and place orders to ensure stock availability.
- Report operational issues and resolve or escalate customer complaints.
- Report on KPIs, sales trends, inventory status, and team productivity.
- Schedule staff to meet operating needs while optimizing costs, and assign tasks to associates, cashiers, and coordinators.
- Supervise opening and closing procedures, including petty cash and reporting; ensure required accurate delivery to accounting under company and security policies.
- Communicate sales plans and targets, monitor performance, and advise management on corrective action.
- Assist with staff training, motivation, and evaluation.
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of retail or equivalent management experience.
- Strong product knowledge.
