AP Accountant

About This Role

Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for managing and processing all invoices received for payment and ensuring accurate, timely payments to vendors. The role includes maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting overall financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices (3-way matching)
• Prepare and process payments (cheques, bank transfers, WPS if applicable)
• Maintain vendor accounts and reconcile statements regularly
• Resolve discrepancies and communicate with vendors regarding billing issues
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
• Assist in month-end closing activities and reporting
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of all accounts payable records
• Monitor aging reports and ensure timely settlement of liabilities
• Support audits by providing required documentation and reports

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven experience in accounts payable or general accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Tally, Oracle, or similar)
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
