Graduate programme

Aon invites soon-to-be and recent graduates to its Early Careers Launch Development Program for actuarial roles.

The programme combines on-the-job learning with actuarial work intended to develop credentialed, advisory-capable actuaries.

The stated programme area is Wealth Solutions: Retirement, advising trustees and employers on defined benefit pension schemes, funding, risk, and long-term obligations.

Actuarial analysis and modelling

  • Build and run pricing, reserving, profitability, and pension scheme models; review AI baselines, test scenarios, validate outputs, and question anomalies against actuarial principles.
  • Support funding and accounting valuations, projections, benefit calculations, data reconciliation, reserving, and pension scheme reporting.
  • Analyze data and risk to identify patterns, test scenarios, and explain financial obligations, assumptions, risk drivers, market trends, and possible outcomes.
  • Identify ways trustees and companies can manage longevity, investment, and inflation risks.
  • Support profitability and reinsurance analysis and interpret relevant results and trends.

Client and project work

  • Draft reports, presentations, and analysis summaries for governance, financial reporting, and client decision-making.
  • Coordinate workstreams, AI and offshore analyst workflows, documentation, and delivery of pension scheme and internal projects.
  • Work with client teams advising pension scheme trustees or the companies sponsoring schemes.

Development and tools

  • Learn to validate outputs, set and challenge assumptions, interpret results, and communicate methodology and client value.
  • Develop technical and consulting skills, including calculations, communication, project management, commercial awareness, and professional judgement.
  • Use digital tools thoughtfully: frame prompts, refine outputs, check AI-supported analysis, and audit outputs before client use.
  • Technology and global delivery teams support routine preparation, reconciliation, and baseline calculations so colleagues can focus on validation, judgement, scenario thinking, and communication.

Programme dates

  • Start date is 8 March 2027 or 1 September 2027.
  • Application closing date is 7 December 2026; the employer may close earlier if it receives the applications it needs.

Location

  • The posting specifies London only.

Requirements

  • The programme is aimed at soon-to-be graduates and recent graduates.
  • Develop quantitative and actuarial capability to assess, price, and manage financial risk through the programme and on-the-job learning.
  • Build understanding of key actuarial calculations, assumptions, and principles, and validate automated or AI-supported results.
  • Develop communication, project management, commercial awareness, professional judgement, and client consulting skills.
  • Use digital tools thoughtfully, including framing prompts, refining outputs, checking AI-supported analysis, and auditing outputs before client use.
