Job Title: Accounting & Reporting Lead Middle East

Location: Dubai, UAE

Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations & Processes:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, payroll and utilities, budgeting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, and capital assets reconciliations.
• Manage the general accounting function, which includes General ledger, sub ledgers (fixed assets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventories..), day to day cash management, fixed assets, tax impacts.
• Implement Accounting programs and plans, processes and policies to manage or perform work in general financial accounting activities of the organization
• Implement execute and maintain Financial transaction recording standards
• Develop and administer processes linked to Control/reconciliation of accounts and records
• Prepare processes connected with cost accounting/budgeting
• Manages Net working Capital and Cash position as per target.

Reporting & Financial Analysis:

• Monitor and analyze accounting data and issue financial reports.
• Directs the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports including P&L, balance sheet, cash flows, in an efficient way, and according to Galderma Standards. Ensure proper and timely accounts reconciliations.
• Provide analysis and recommendations regarding statutory profit and accounting consequences of business decisions.
• Collaborate to prepare Accounting reports/schedules for internal audiences (management reporting) and for external audiences (compliance reporting)
• Prepares presentations and concepts to be presented to leadership and company committees

Controls, Compliance & Governance:

• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions when needed.
• Maintain accounting controls by implementing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Ensure that financial accounting practices are compliant with both internal and external financial policies, standards, and legal requirements
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance of controls and accuracy of accounts.
• Development, implementation and monitoring of financial accounting and related systems. Set and enforce accounting policy, in addition to working with other functions to develop positions on best practices throughout the organization.

Tax, Audit & Regulatory:

• Be responsible for tax matters, such as tax returns, VAT reports, Corporate Income Tax and handle tax topics in cooperation with corporate tax department. Manage e-invoicing process.
• Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic reviews of the financial records. Is responsible for the implementation of agreed recommendations.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

• Guides and directs the accounting team, coordinates Shared Service Centre contracted staff to get things done. Responsible for continued development of the team members.

• Directly manages a team of 3 accounting professionals, including assigning work, coaching, training, and supporting their ongoing development

• Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees

• Connect with and influence other specialist departments and external service providers

• Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with Galderma managers

• Convince others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches; manage without authority in a matrix environment Qualifications and Skills:

• ACCA/CA/ Master's / Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Accounting qualifications.

• 1-3 years audit experience within a Big Four firm

• 2-5 years Accounting management experience in Middle East - MNC environment

• High Change and Results Agility

• Professional who is an established subject matter expert within a job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience

• Manage large & complex projects and/or owns end-to-end processes, working independently with no supervision or only limited supervision from manager

• May lead process improvement and process design initiatives. Takes a broad perspective to identify solutions as problems faced are often complex

• Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices.
