Accountant (Trading Industry)

Role overview

Employment and workplace

• Employment is full-time and office-based in Dubai, UAE.

Compensation

• Monthly salary is AED 10,000–12,000.

Accounting and reporting duties

• Collect and organize contracts, invoices, bank statements, expense records and other supporting documents; maintain records for several group companies.
• Record operating and intercompany transactions, advances, accruals, investments and financing activities where applicable.
• Reconcile bank accounts, payables, receivables and intercompany balances; account for multiple currencies and foreign exchange differences.
• Monitor outstanding balances and resolve missing documents or discrepancies; document accounting entries clearly.
• Complete month-end and year-end closing; prepare financial statements, schedules and regular management reports.
• Coordinate annual audits, respond to auditor queries and prepare supporting reconciliations, schedules and confirmations.
• Prepare VAT workings and returns where applicable and support Corporate Tax filings with external tax advisers.
• Coordinate the handover from the outsourced provider, including accounting data, opening balances, historical records and system access.

Candidate requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and at least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including UAE experience.
• Able to independently manage full-cycle accounting and month-end/year-end closing; experience across multiple legal entities is required, while holding-group experience is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT and Corporate Tax; experience with financial statements and external audits.
• Strong multicurrency, intercompany accounting and reconciliation knowledge; proficient with accounting software and Excel.
• Good written and spoken English, attention to detail, discrepancy-investigation skills and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
