The accountant manages accounts receivable, collects outstanding invoices, and maintains accurate financial records according to established standards.
Key accountabilities
- Prepare and issue tax invoices to customers and ensure prompt delivery.
- Process incoming payments, including checks, electronic transfers, and credit card transactions, and maintain financial records.
- Reconcile cash, cheque, and credit card transactions daily.
- Reconcile payments with accounts receivable records and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reconciling sub-ledgers with the general ledger.
- Address inquiries and use bookkeeping knowledge to maintain financial integrity.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the line manager.
Education, experience, and qualifications
- University graduate in Finance and Accounting.
- At least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
- ACCA qualification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial software, and data visualization tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication to explain financial data and concepts to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to detail.
Language skills
- English language skills are required.
- Any second language is desirable.
