Wood Painter

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Prepare wooden and MDF surfaces through sanding, filling, cleaning, and surface treatment.
• Apply primers, sealers, undercoats, paints, lacquers, and protective coatings as required.
• Paint furniture and joinery, including wardrobes, cabinets, doors, tables, wall panels, shelves, and custom-made products.
• Mix paints and match colors to approved samples and project requirements.
• Use spray guns, rollers, brushes, and other suitable equipment.
• Achieve consistent color, texture, and specified matte, semi-gloss, or gloss finishes.
• Inspect for scratches, uneven coating, bubbles, runs, dust marks, and other defects; perform touch-ups, repairs, sanding between coats, and repainting as needed.
• Follow approved samples, technical specifications, and quality standards; coordinate with carpenters, wood polishers, supervisors, and quality control staff.
• Maintain tools and equipment; keep the painting area clean, organized, and ventilated.
• Follow safety procedures for paints, solvents, and other chemicals; complete work to production schedules and project deadlines.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Wood Painter, Furniture Painter, or in a similar role.
• Practical knowledge of painting and finishing wooden furniture and joinery products.
• Experience with surface preparation, sanding, filling, priming, and paint application.
• Knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, and coating application techniques.
• Able to operate spray guns and other painting equipment safely.
• Familiarity with MDF, plywood, veneer, and solid wood surfaces.
• Able to identify painting defects and achieve a smooth, uniform finish.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Able to work independently and as part of a workshop team, and meet production targets and deadlines.

Preferred qualifications

• Custom-made furniture manufacturing and joinery experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of PU paint, lacquer, enamel, and other furniture coating systems is preferred.
• Experience painting wardrobes, cabinets, doors, wall panels, and decorative furniture is preferred.
• Previous experience in a UAE furniture manufacturing or joinery company is an advantage.
