Furniture Carpenter

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble, and install custom furniture and joinery; read shop drawings, technical drawings, and cutting lists.
• Measure, mark, cut, shape, and assemble materials, including MDF, plywood, solid wood, veneer, and laminates.
• Build wardrobes, cabinets, kitchen units, drawers, doors, shelves, counters, wall panels, and other furniture.
• Operate carpentry tools and woodworking machinery safely; install hinges, drawer runners, handles, locks, and other hardware.
• Ensure accurate measurements, alignment, strong joints, and smooth finishes; sand, trim, adjust, and perform minor repairs.
• Inspect finished products against company quality standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate with workshop supervisors, foremen, draftsmen, and teammates; handle materials carefully and minimize waste.
• Maintain tools, machinery, and a clean, organized work area; follow safety procedures and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Furniture Carpenter or Carpenter in a furniture manufacturing or joinery workshop.
• Strong practical knowledge of furniture fabrication, assembly, and installation; ability to read shop drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience with MDF, plywood, veneer, laminates, and solid wood; knowledge of furniture hardware, fittings, joinery, and finishing.
• Ability to use carpentry tools and woodworking machinery safely; good measurement skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team; committed to quality workmanship, productivity, and deadlines.

Preferred qualifications

• Custom-made furniture and high-end joinery experience is preferred.
• Furniture manufacturing company or interior fit-out project experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, wall panels, doors, and bespoke furniture is preferred; UAE carpentry or joinery experience is an advantage.
