Required qualifications
- Complete a Welding Technologist or Technician course at a community or recognized college consisting of two years or more.
- Have some experience with manual Gas Metal Arc Welding.
- Have practical experience with industrial robots.
Preferred qualifications
- Practical experience with manual Gas Tungsten Arc Welding is an asset.
- Understanding PPAP requirements is an asset.
Duties and responsibilities
- Support weld engineering coordinators and troubleshoot weld systems and robotic equipment.
- Maintain welding documentation, specifications, quality standards, shift reports and audit records.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and assist with problem investigations and root cause determination.
- Support program launches, pre-production buyoffs, first-off and mid-off process verifications.
- Set and maintain welding parameters, inspect welds, analyze data and generate reports.
- Coordinate problem reports and containment; support robotic weld touchups and PPAP packages.
- Participate in product, system and process audits, quality meetings and personnel training.
- Support Paxit system setup and training; cover other Weld Technicians when needed.
Pay and schedule
- Base pay is CAD 36.31–40.31 per hour.
- Shifts rotate every two weeks between days, afternoons and midnights.
- Shift premiums are listed as $0.85 per hour for afternoons and $1.35 per hour for midnights.
- The posting states weekly direct-deposit pay and overtime at 1.5 times after 40 hours worked.
