Materials Coordinator (Days & Afternoons)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Create, monitor, and modify daily shipping schedules based on customer demand.
• Coordinate shipments with logistics companies and truck drivers; obtain transportation quotes and expedite materials.
• Communicate to support on-time inbound and outbound deliveries; prepare shipping documents and monitor Advanced Shipping Notices.
• Monitor vendor releases and online inventories to keep production lines covered.
• Maintain customer routings, report carrier performance issues, and retain bills of lading and customs documents.
• Issue reports, support production planning on off shifts, and make scheduling decisions according to material planning procedures.
• Provide coverage for planners and coordinators, investigate issues, implement solutions, update procedure documents, and promote continuous improvement.
• Follow operational, quality, and environmental procedures, including IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.

Requirements

• One year of manufacturing experience; automotive experience is preferred.
• Post-secondary education in Materials Management or Supply Chain Management is an asset.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and a carrier management system (CMS) are required.
• Requires attention to detail, problem-solving, organization, interpersonal skills, confidentiality, and teamwork.
• Must meet deadlines, manage multiple demands and planning programs, and work overtime when needed.
• Must be physically able to perform the essential duties.

Compensation

• Hourly range: $30.43–$34.15.

Shift schedule

• Rotating days and afternoons; the role may provide production planning support during off shifts.

Work environment

• Work takes place in a manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature and noise.
