Gist seeks a Warehouse Section Leader to support the Warehouse Shift Manager with day-to-day warehouse operations.
The hands-on role coordinates activity, resource planning and performance and supports colleagues, but has no direct line management responsibility.
Workplace
- The role is based at the Portbury site.
Schedule
- The shift pattern is four days on and four days off, from 06:00 to 18:00.
Responsibilities
- Plan resources and coordinate warehouse and outbound activity for safe, accurate and timely product movement.
- Monitor operational and picking KPIs, maintain reports and support performance improvements.
- Support colleague attendance, availability, return-to-work conversations and other people processes.
- Communicate shift priorities, support induction and training, and provide direction to colleagues.
- Identify operational risks, champion health and safety, and work with teams across the site to resolve issues and complete handovers.
- Support changing warehouse priorities and additional operational requirements throughout the shift.
What the employer is looking for
- Proven warehouse, logistics or fast-paced operations experience and an understanding of warehouse activity.
- Confident coordinating work and supporting colleagues, with communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office for reporting; experience with a Warehouse Management System, SAP or similar is desirable.
- Knowledge of operational KPIs is desirable, or candidates should be willing and able to learn.
- Collaborative approach, strong safety and accuracy focus, and flexibility as shift priorities change.
- FMCG or other high-volume environment experience is desirable.
Salary
- The stated salary is £34,800; no pay cadence is specified.
