What you will do

  • Support absence, performance, conduct, and other employee relations processes.
  • Handle employee relations activity fairly, consistently, and in line with employment law and policy.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases and support risk management, root cause analysis, and industrial relations activity.
  • Coach and develop line managers.
  • Use HR data, trends, and insights to identify priorities and practical solutions.
  • Support engagement initiatives and local people activities.
  • Maintain accurate records covering headcount, absence, employee relations, training, and employee lifecycle activity.
  • Contribute to the site people plan and support business change and transformation.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience in HR advisory, employee relations, or a generalist HR role.
  • Experience in an operational, FMCG, or logistics environment is desirable.
  • Ability to advise and coach managers on employee relations and people challenges.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, HR policy, and employee relations best practice.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships, communicate clearly, manage sensitive cases, and exercise sound judgement.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use HR data and insight to develop practical solutions.
  • Ability to influence, challenge, and problem-solve collaboratively with wider HR teams.
  • CIPD Level 3 or 5 is desirable but not essential.

Role details

  • Salary is up to £38,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
  • Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with flexibility to support the site during evening or night shifts.

Benefits

  • Benefits include an M&S discount, annual leave plus bank holidays, healthcare cash plan, annual bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, retail discounts, wellbeing support, training, and a cycle to work scheme.
