Opportunity

Gist is hiring an experienced Recruitment Manager to lead operational recruitment across its UK network.

The role focuses on high-volume recruitment for driver and warehouse populations and also includes hands-on management of selected graded and specialist vacancies.

The position leads and develops a recruitment team and partners with operational and People teams.

Location and working pattern

  • The stated location is Basingstoke, RG24 8UB, with a hybrid working pattern.

Contract and salary

  • This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.
  • Salary is up to £60,000, dependent on experience.

Hours

  • The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team delivering high-volume driver and warehouse recruitment across the UK network.
  • Own recruitment delivery against operational headcount requirements and coordinate recruitment planning with operational leaders and People teams.
  • Coordinate attraction, assessment, and onboarding during peak demand; use recruitment data and management information to monitor delivery.
  • Develop attraction strategies, oversee recruitment channels and campaigns, champion direct sourcing, and build candidate pipelines.
  • Improve candidate experience from application through onboarding and build effective relationships with hiring managers and stakeholders.
  • Manage selected graded and specialist vacancies, support Applicant Tracking System use, and improve recruitment processes and service delivery.

What the employer is looking for

  • Strong experience in an in-house recruitment or Talent Acquisition function is sought.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching, and developing a recruitment team is sought.
  • High-volume recruitment experience is sought; experience in logistics, distribution, warehousing, transport, retail, manufacturing, or another operational environment is ideal.
  • A strong understanding of attraction strategies and routes to market is sought.
  • The role requires comfort with both recruitment-team leadership and hands-on operational recruitment delivery.
