What you'll be doing
- Manage projects from design and site surveys through implementation, testing, and operational handover, controlling scope, budget, timelines, dependencies, and risk.
- Deliver depot openings, upgrades, fit-outs, relocations, and infrastructure refreshes.
- Coordinate LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, structured cabling, telecommunications, and communications room infrastructure.
- Lead teams, engineers, vendors, and contractors to meet quality, cost, and performance targets.
- Review designs, installations, and vendor proposals; resolve technical and delivery issues.
- Ensure infrastructure meets security, resilience, performance, and availability standards.
- Support handheld terminal, operational printer, and end-user technology deployments.
- Ensure technology integrates with underlying network and wireless infrastructure.
- Keep operational stakeholders informed and aligned throughout delivery.
- Share standards, best practices, and lessons learned with the Project Management team.
- Ensure compliance with IT security, governance, and Health and Safety requirements.
What we're looking for
- Proven IT infrastructure project delivery experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, or similar operational environments.
- Experience delivering infrastructure for new sites, fit-outs, relocations, and upgrades.
- Strong practical knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, structured cabling, telecommunications, and communications room infrastructure.
- Ability to review designs, challenge vendor proposals, and resolve delivery issues.
- Experience delivering infrastructure in operational environments through engineering or technical project delivery.
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, suppliers, workstreams, priorities, and dependencies.
- Strong technical and project documentation skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the UK and Ireland.
- Desirable: supply chain, logistics, or distribution operations experience; warehouse technology experience; Extreme Networks, Cisco, or equivalent; PRINCE2, APM, or PMP.
Salary
- Salary is £65,000–£75,000 per annum.
Hours
- Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Location and travel
- The role can be based anywhere in the UK; Midlands-based candidates are preferred.
- Regular travel across the UK and Ireland is expected.
