Warehouse Assistant

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload furniture, boxes, equipment, and other goods.
• Receive materials, verify quantities against delivery documents, and report discrepancies or visible damage.
• Sort, label, and organize goods in designated storage areas.
• Pack household, office, and commercial items safely and securely.
• Pick items for moving or delivery and prepare goods for transportation and dispatch.
• Handle furniture, cartons, appliances, fragile items, heavy items, and valuable goods carefully.
• Assist movers and warehouse staff during packing, loading, unloading, and relocation activities.
• Maintain stock and movement records and assist with regular inventory counts.
• Keep warehouse and packing areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Coordinate with drivers, movers, storekeepers, and supervisors during delivery activities.
• Use basic warehouse equipment and tools safely as instructed.
• Follow health and safety procedures, use appropriate PPE, and report hazards or operational issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous warehouse, packing, moving, logistics, or material-handling experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of warehouse and inventory procedures.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move goods safely.
• Ability to handle furniture, cartons, appliances, and other materials carefully.
• Teamwork, communication, reliability, punctuality, and a responsible approach to work.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Basic reading, writing, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work in a busy warehouse and moving environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours when operational requirements demand.
